I guess these were the first minis I finished this year. I hadn't realized that, until I saw time stamps on pics and posts. I have prepped quite a few other minis, mostly from various Kickstarter projects, but hadn't gotten any further with any of those.
At any rate, here are various heroes/characters from the game, Starcadia Quest, which I have not played. I mainly like the minis from the game.

DeleteYeah, each one is so different, with lots of fiddly little details. I tried to match the game's card art as much as I could. :D
Yeah, individual characters are what take me the longest to paint.
DeleteI like having card art or examples to copy, otherwise decisions about what to paint every little bit and bob can drop me into a spiral of indecision which I will never get out of and ultimately give up on painting the miniature! Sometimes I will paint something differently, but it's only when I have a VERY CLEAR idea of how I'm going to do that from the outset. Often it is "paint it like the card art but change X and Y..."
Same. Card art is good to work from. If I don't have that I try to find some sort of reference, even if it's not directly related, but maybe analogous in some way, although that usually only provides some general ideas, and not details.
