Owl Bears

Four hefty Owl Bears from TAG (The Assault Group). These are metal. I think the bodies are basically the same ones they made for their bears with dwarven riders, with added wings and feathers and other owl bear features, along with different heads, of course. Fun figures to paint.

I tried to go for a couple of standard brownish owls/bears, like you might find in the woods.

Along with an arctic or polar owl bear and a melanistic owl bear.

Witches and Others

My latest batch of minis. These are an eclectic mix.

Two green-skinned witches from Northumbrian Tin Soldier. They make me think of Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax from Terry Pratchett's Discworld stories.

Three witch sisters, obviously based on the characters from the Hocus Pocus movie, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. Also from Northumbrian Tin Soldier.

A goatman, large goofy bat (maybe a vampire in bat form?), both from Northumbrian Tin Soldier. And a treasure chest mimic from Super Dungeon Explore.

A steampunk lady from Reaper, and a couple of cats whose source I have forgotten.

Turtles All the Way Down

I painted the set of turtles from an old copy of Super Dungeon Explore. Possibly for use as monsters/foes in assorted fantasy and sci-fi games.

Here is the whole group

Gnome, Not So Sweet Gnome

My latest batch of minis. The gnaughty gnomes are from Northumbrian Tin Soldier, same company who did the Cats of Crumptown.

The lamplighter, with his cartful of candle stubs and the gray cat are also from NTS.

Weasel and mole from Stonehaven Miniatures; with gnome for scale.

Cats, part one

The Cats of Crumptown from Northumbrian Tin Soldier. Kittenguard, part 1

My current miniatures painting project, with more cats to come in the next few weeks or so.

First image is to show size comparisons with an old GW wood elf, a Foundry dwarf, and a Reaper human. The cats are all metal and as you can tell, quite chunky.

Second image is to show a size comparison with a Reaper mousling.

Creatures, Mostly Great

Finally got around to painting these beasts I have had for I don't know how long.

First some dinosaurs (from Hasslefree, if I recall correctly). Trying to come up with various color schemes so all of my dinos aren't just a mass of grays and browns.

Some sort of raptor-like dino

A parasaurolophus

A sabertooth cat (from Reaper, I believe)

A giant bat (also from Reaper). This is huge, with a wingspan of something like 20 feet in scale. Also quite hefty, as like the rest of these animals it is solid metal.

Noggin, part 4

Another batch of Noggin miniatures from Little Soldier Company. Probably the last of the Noggin minis I will do for a while (I do have minis of Noggin and Nootka sitting on thrones, 2 soldiers on horseback and a couple of variants of Nogbad the Bad, but I think I will do those some other time).

Just some odds and ends.
A Murder of (Nogbad's) crows.

Graculus (the bird) and Groliffe (the dragon).

Dwarf/gnome in kilt and Inverness cape, soldier of Nog disguised as a bear, and the moon mouse.

With apologies for photo quality. After all these years I still can't seem to always get good shots.

My latest bits, some bunnies and some piles of goods, all from Bad Squiddo. Good for set dressing. (shown here with a dwarf, halfling, and human, for scale)

Some dwarf lasses and flying guinea pigs, from Bad Squiddo minis.

Getting Prehistoric

Final batch of minis for 2019. These are Reaper Bones raptors and pygmy mammoth (still quite large though).

I took my inspiration for the raptors from big cats like leopard and cheetahs. And that made me want to make one of them melanistic, like a black leopard.

I painted the mammoth a pretty standard reddish brown.

Cats and Camps

This time, just some simple bits to add to scenes.

Some long-haired cats from Bad Squiddo

And the hunter's camp from Mantic Games
